Things to Remember When Planning a Wedding – a few Months Before

Once you have completed the earliest stages of planning a wedding- reserving the venue, working out the budget and having your engagement party etc- it is time to enter the next stage of the wedding plan. Don’t lose your head or stress yourself- instead use this handy guide to help you along the way to marital bliss. These actions should be considered around six to eight months before the big day.

Book the Entertainment

The best way to get the best from your wedding entertainment, most likely a band, is to attend some gigs of bands that you have earmarked. Don’t just listen to how they sound but get a feel for how they interact with the audience. You will want a warm and engaging band that can entertain an audience of all ages, not just a band that plays music you like.

Meet the caterers and sort the menu

If your venue of choice doesn’t include a catering service then seek out a caterer that you like the sound of and meet with them. If possible do a tasting session to get an idea of the quality of their food. A tasting session will also help you perfect the menu and iron out any kinks or discrepancies. The food will be an important part of the proceedings so it is important to get it right.

The Dress!

For some this is the most important part of the wedding, as how you look in your dress in the wedding photos will be with you for the rest of your life. Make sure you schedule at least two or three fittings so it is not a rush job. There are many Bridesmaid dress websites such as azazie.com to fulfil your requirements.

Reserve hotel rooms for guests

It is a good idea to reserve a block of hotel rooms for out of town guests- try and aim to book three different hotels near the venue at different price points.

Wedding Gifts

You may have forgotten this little perk to getting married- the gifts! Register a wedding gift list with a few different retailers. Don’t forget to put a coffee maker on the list; it is just the done thing. Either that or a juicer.

Sort out invitations

If you like you can hire a calligrapher to make your invitations look special, or do them yourself- either way remembers that the process will be time consuming.
